History
Manikachar Lalmia Sarkar Latif Munshi Model High School is the only recognized model institution located in the heart of Meghna Upazila. This enlightened educational institution, rich in history and tradition, was established in 1946. The founder of this institution is Maulvi Sirajul Haque Sarkar, who also served as the headmaster during its establishment. Manikachar L.L. High School was named after the father of Maulvi Sirajul Haque Sarkar, the founder of this institution, Maulvi Lalmia Sarkar, and Abdul Latif Munshi, the father of Abdul Khalek Munshi, Chanaullah Master and Tafazzal Hossain, one of the land donors of the institution. It is worth noting that the institution was named by adding the initials of Maulvi Lalmia Sarkar and the initials of Abdul Latif Munshi.
In 2009, the institution was selected as a model institution in the pilot project, and the word 'model' given by the government was added to the name of the institution and it was named 'Manikarchar L. L. Model High School'. Hence, after being recognized as a model school by the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the Comilla Education Board recorded and included the school as the only model institution at the upazila level as 'Manikarchar L. L. Model High School'.
In view of the special instructions of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education, in 2024, the Comilla Education Board added the full name of the institution by adding the short initials L. L. to the full form 'Manikarchar Lalmia Sarkar Latif Munshi Model High School'.
Since its establishment, the institution has been operating with great reputation. In continuation of this, efforts are being made to take some effective measures in the field of mental development of the students as well as modernization in education. Besides, since the beginning, students studying in academic institutions have been fulfilling important responsibilities towards society.
